Upcycling Design Challenge Show, May 25 to 31

The 3rd annual Upcycling Design Challenge show is on May 25 to 31 at Willowbrook! A joint collaboration of the Township of Langley and the Langley Arts Council, the Challenge showcases 25 pieces created from waste material that would otherwise end up in our landfills. Recycled drink containers transformed into a flower garden...  Used horseshoes made into a funky wine rack... Old garden tools made into an art sculpture... The Upcycling Design Challenge aims to remind people that, with a little creativity, what was old can be new again - perhaps even better than it once was!

Congratulations to the winners of the Challenge!  The awards were presented on May 28 at the Upcycling Design Challenge reception at Willowbrook. The Challenge winners were:

  • 1st Place ($500 prize): Natasha Vanderzwan (Rudy’s Revenge)
  • 2nd Place ($200 Prize): Doug May (Rory)
  • 3rd Place ($100 Prize): Shari Bronson (Ruffles & Ridges)
  • People's Choice Award ($500 Willowbrook Gift Card): Natasha Vanderzwan (Rudy’s Revenge)

Congratulations to all artists that participated in the Challenge.

The Upcycling Design Challenge show is still on at Willowbrook until May 31, so come down to the shopping centre and check it out!
