Community Relations

Community Space

Since its opening, Willowbrook Shopping Centre has supported our community by providing various charities and non-profit groups complimentary space in our Centre, in aid of their causes, goals or to simply increase their public awareness. As we receive an abundance of requests each year, we have created a standard selection process for approval.

Some examples of eligible groups include sports teams, school groups and charities. Space is limited to one week per group/year and is awarded on a first-come basis. Requests for space must be submitted in writing, at least three months in advance for approval.

In keeping with our community spirit, Willowbrook will give preference to organizations that:

  • Make a contribution to the local community including non-profit, cultural, educational and social service groups.
  • Serve the community of Langley, Surrey and/or White Rock.
  • Are a registered charitable organization.

Please note that we do not support the following:

  • For-profit activities.
  • Organizations or projects outside or originating outside of British Columbia.
  • Travel for individuals or groups.
  • Religious or political organizations and their affiliated activities.

Once approved, groups will need to provide a copy of their organization’s general commercial liability insurance for a minimum of $2 million and $250,000 tenant legal risk liability.

Please drop-off, mail, fax or email your request:

Charitable Partnerships

Willowbrook Shopping Centre is proud to give back! With the support of our shoppers, retailers and suppliers, we are able to help our community year-round through various initiatives including centre fundraising events. Highlights of our efforts include:

Adopt-A-Creek (Year Round)

The Centre’s Management team conducts semi-annual litter pick-ups at Meadows Creek Park to preserve its eco-sensitive environment.

Trick Or Treat (October)

The popular Trick or Treat Event is held on October 31 annually. Over the past 10 years, this event has raised a total of over $18,885 for local charities. Our 2017 proceeds went to support the Langley School District Foundation.

Rotary Club Wine Festival (November)

Each November, The Rotary Club holds their annual Fraser Valley Wine Tasting Festival at Willowbrook. In 2017, $75,000 was raised, helping to support the youth in our community.

Charity Shopping Night (November)

In November, the Centre holds an annual Charity Shopping Night. Local non-profit groups sell tickets to this after-hours shopping evening benefitting 100 per cent from their ticket sales. Since its fruition in 2012, this event has raised over $200,000 and supported over 80 local organizations (in 2016, the event raised $42,000 aiding 21 local charitable organizations). If your group is interested in registering to sell tickets, please email: [email protected]

Charity Gift Wrap (December)

Every December, the Centre offers shoppers holiday gift wrapping service to raise funds for a local charity. In 2016, through our gift wrapping efforts, we raised $13,937 for the Langley School District Foundation.
