Our lives are SO BUSY, it can be tough to make healthier eating choices when you are on the go! That’s why we’ve compiled our favourite go-to meals for when we’re on the run, because fast food doesn’t have to be unhealthy food! BONUS – all these meals are under 500 calories! It’s a meal miracle!
Breakfast Buster – Starbucks
If you are anything like us then you’re always getting your breakfast in a rush! You’ve got to spend all your time in the morning getting perfectly ready for the day… and we admit it… breakfast is when we normally fail on our healthy eating because we pop in for our morning Grande and often get tempted by those decadent Petite Vanilla Scones… but last month we found something that caught our eye. The Sous Vide Eggs with Bacon and Gruyere…. They looked so fluffy and cute, we couldn’t help but order a pair. And we’re so glad we did… they are AMAZING! Plus, at only 290 calories… they’re a breakfast we can be proud of
Souvlaki & Salad – OPA
Okay… fresh, healthy, and delicious, this meal has it all! Plus… we all know that variety is the ‘spice of life’ so we change up our protein options all the time with this meal…. Our favourite must be the Lamb Souvlaki… the perfect mix of protein, fresh veggies, and feta cheese… OPA!
Dumpling Soup – Thai Express
Some days we just CRAVE soup, but we don’t want the high calorie heavy cream-based soups at most fast food locations… enter Thai Express! They’ve got a variety of appetizing meals to eat, but dumpling soup is easily one of our FAVES! The best part is you can load it up with a variety of vegetables from broccoli to baby corn because we can all use that extra serving of veggies every now and again.
California Dream Crepe- Crepe Delicious
Grilled chicken breast on a bed of lettuce topped with tomato, corn, ranch dressing and of course, our favourite AVOCADO! The California Chicken Crepe is that “quick eat while you browse” meal. You can hold it with one hand while texting in the other… that’s right… meal multitaskers dream come true!
Get Wrapped Up – Subway
We know, we know… it’s so hard to get a wrap when you smell Subway’s yummy fresh baked bread… but resist the urge and get your sub wrapped… trust us, they are delightful! The hardest part… choosing which one to get. B.L.T, Chicken Bacon Ranch, Steak Mushroom Melt…we are drooling just thinking about them!
When in Doubt, Smooth(ie) It Out – Orange Julius
So it’s not a meal… but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t deserve to be on the list. We LOVE the premium fruit smoothies from Orange Julius; real fruit, low-fat yoghurt, and refreshing to boot! Plus, you can make it light with no artificial flavours and fewer calories than the regular smoothies. Don’t forget to add a nutritional boost, we typically go for Vitamin C!
